Middle Grade

In other news, it’s been decided by the powers-that-be that Fortune’s Folly will be marketed as a Middle Grade book. I am happy either way; as long as people read and enjoy it, I will be pleased! And I will be in great company. Many of my personal favorites (such as Lloyd Alexander’s Prydain books) are categorized as MG, not to mention new and upcoming writers like the excellent Sarah Prineas and R.J. Anderson.

I do most of my book-browsing in my local library, and online, where the distinction is not as obvious as in the bookstore where there is a separate Teen section. So mostly I just see a whole bunch of interesting books. I hope readers who might enjoy Fortune’s Folly, no matter what their age, will be able to find it.
